If Maximilian could play in a movie, that would definitely be 500 days of Summer. He is a very modest (almost shy) person, with his inner musicality stepping forward immediately- exactly like the main character of the movie. Also, he is a big fan of Smiths. I discovered his music (which produces under the moniker Rosentwig) one evening while I was browsing between channels and lists. His sound can be raw and nervous but also very relaxing and soothing. Same circumstances apply in his latest work too- a modern-day album with fresh perspective and emotional moments - rare thing to find. Even though his generation doesn't really enjoy music in physical form, that was never actually a problem. Because with three studio releases already in his hands, the future of Rosentwig looks very bright. Who are you? I'm Rosentwig (my real name is Maximilian Zantis), 24 years old and I'm a composer/producer based in Germany.

Can you tell me one person, a place and a thing that inspire you.

I took a trip to Iceland with a good friend a few years ago, and that place still very much inspires me. In general I love nature and open spaces so Iceland is a perfect example for that. I also really really love old European cities.

In terms of a thing, I've always been incredibly fascinated by how music can change the way you feel and experience life. So it is actually what bubble music can create around you - evoking feelings you've never had or haven't felt in a long while.

Then, my friends, family and my girlfriend have always given me an incredible amount of support and are always there for me. Rich Vreeland (aka Disasterpeace) and Keith Kenniff (aka Helios) have been a huge inspiration for my music. Also the character Phil Dunphy from the show Modern Family (portrayed by Ty Burrell) - he is an incredible dad and overall great human being.I definitely aspire to be somewhat like him when I'm older.

What is your current state of mind? I feel like I've been calmer throughout the recent years, but I still worry a lot and overthink all the time. But I'm starting to let this need for control go .

What is your dream collaboration? Thats a tough one, there are so many incredible artists.I'd love to work on something with Rich Vreeland though. I feel like we could work really well together!

Which was the first record you ever bought? When and how? I got into music pretty late in my life. So the first record I actually bought myself was a compilation album/soundtrack from the game Hotline Miami.

And the last one? Constellation Bay Vol. II by Admo Tell me which is the best live concert you have ever been. I have never really been to a concert. Apart from some school and theatre trips. The only thing I can remember is an orchestral concert we went to - I was amazed by instruments sound in real life.

What is your greatest extravagance in life? My first composing gig actually! I went to acting school for roughly a year before dropping out and we worked pretty closely with other students in filmmaking department. In one of these movies I had to play the main role. At that point I was making music just for fun but we still needed someone to make the music for the film. I ended up not only acting but also compose the music within 2-3 weeks time. I was super scared and thought I wouldn't be able to do it, but in the end it made me realise how much I love making music and how powerful and impactful it can be .That was one of the reasons why I decided to pursue a music career. Which record you have borrowed and never returned? None comes to mind. I'm from the mp3 generation so we used to just send each other the music via bluetooth etc.

It's your last day on Earth. Which record you choose to play and why?

Helios - Eingya. This record always has been one of my favourite ways to reflect on my life, so I feel it would be appropriate for this doomsday scenario.

Tell me about two records that you have and feel ashamed of. The only one I can think is s Pussy Cat Dolls album on my pc when I was like 12.

And two records that you don't have and still feel ashamed of.

I can't really think of any. Again, this is probably a generation thing, but I mostly use streaming platforms to listen to music. And when I buy music, it's generally because I want to give that extra support to the artist.

Which is your ideal festival line up?

Aphex Twin, Coldplay, Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, The Smiths.

In your opinion, which record should be taught in schools?

Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Penguin Cafe Orchestra What you were listening the last time neighbours asked you to turn the volume down?

Not sure, but I think I was listening to Animal Collective - My Girls

Who is the Greatest? Morrissey or Liam Gallagher? Definitely Morrissey - I love the Smiths.

Which dead artist you would bring back to life? Oh, that's another really tough question. My first thought was David Bowie or Freddie Mercury, but again there are so many incredible artists. Imagine what Debussy would do with today's technology. Which music genre is the most overrated? I generally don't like to think about genres that much, so I'd rather not choose at all.

But if I absolutely had to choose one, it would be the German genre Schlager . It's super simple music that you can still shout/sing while you're wasted. And the most underrated? Ambient and experimental music. I personally love to hear the ideas, techniques and sounds of people who are exploring these fields. When and where you were the happiest? I'm sure there are multiple moments in my childhood, where everything was easier and lighthearted but I'm really happy to be where I am right now.
